Creating a Sustainable Food Source, PT Sasa Inti Collaborates with Suryanesia to Build a Rooftop Solar System

PT Sasa Inti (Sasa), a leading food and cooking spice company in Indonesia since 1968, has inaugurated the installation of a Rooftop Solar Power Plant at its Probolinggo factory, East Java with a capacity of 503,125 kWp. The installation of this rooftop solar system is completed through a collaboration with Suryanesia, a company that offers Solar-as-a-Service solutions for businesses in Indonesia.

The use of renewable energy is one of PT Sasa Inti's efforts to make sustainability an important component of its culture and to continue to run a business that is responsible for its environmental and social impacts. This rooftop solar PV installation is also a realization of PT Sasa Inti's commitment to creating sustainable food sources through the implementation of good ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) policies.

Through this rooftop solar power system, PT Sasa Inti will be able to produce clean energy of 810,147 kWh and reduce its carbon footprint by 634 tonnes of CO2e each year. This inauguration was also attended by (Pj) Bupati of Probolinggo, Ugas Irwanto, S.sos, M.Si; President Director of PT Sasa Inti, Dr. Rudolf Tjandra; Director of PT Sasa Inti, Juli Indrawati; and Founder & CEO of Suryanesia, Rheza Adhihusada.

Understanding the importance of sustainability for the planet’s future, PT Sasa Inti has taken concrete steps to minimise its environmental impacts and strengthen its positive impact on society, one of which is through the installation of the rooftop solar power system. We trust Suryanesia to help us on this rooftop solar system project because Suryanesia is able to provide good service and quality of work, including through the implementation of good occupational safety and health practices during construction as well as by taking into account the building structure capabilities before installing the rooftop solar systems.

The services offered by Suryanesia to commercial and industrial building owners are end-to-end, which includes design, feasibility studies, structural analysis, permitting, installation of solar panel systems as well as operation and regular maintenance post-installation. Suryanesia will also cover all initial investment costs for the rooftop solar power system installation, such that customers only pay the rental fee every month while enjoying savings on electricity costs.

Founder & CEO of Suryanesia Rheza Adhihusada said, we are honoured by the trust given by PT Sasa Inti to us to be a part of the company's initiative in creating sustainable food sources. After today's inauguration, we are committed to continuing to provide the best service and to optimize the system performance during the operational period. We hope that the steps taken by PT Sasa Inti can encourage other industry players to use renewable energy to create a greener and more sustainable Earth.
